Digital collections as way of preserving and using documentary heritage of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

The goal of the research is to systematically analyze the process of forming digital collections for the electronic library "Documentary Memory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" as an effective means of preserving and accessing the documentary heritage of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Methodology. The study used socio-communicative, systemic, and axiological general scientific approaches that allowed to analyze and evaluate the value aspects and priorities in the process of digitizing the documentary heritage of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. To accomplish the research objectives, the following scientific methods were used: source analysis, modeling, content analysis, statistical method, analysis, synthesis and generalization, which contributed to a comprehensive analysis and scientific understanding of the theoretical, methodological, and organizational foundations of the process of digitizing the monastery's documentary heritage. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of this study is to systematize the process of forming digital collections of the electronic library "Documentary Memory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra", to clarify the conceptual foundations of their creation, to determine the main characteristics of future digital collections, and to predict the prospects for using the digital information resource of the documentary heritage of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Conclusions. The implementation of the project to create digital collections of the documentary heritage of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra will not only ensure the preservation and accessibility of this unique cultural heritage, but will also provide unique opportunities for its effective promotion and integration into the international cultural space. Providing access to digital collections provides new perspectives for improving the quality of education and science, as well as creates additional tools for effective social and communication interaction, which promotes the active use and popularization of cultural heritage.
